Duck!

May 9th, 2009

Recently I heard news about ducks. It seems ducks re the most stupid birds in the world. Ducks are nothing but dumb birds. If we shoot at the sky when a group of ducks is passing, then the ducks will think that it is him or her who was shot and it will fall down automatically.

Like wise, if we cut the neck of the duck, it will think that it still has life and start running away to some distance. I do not know whether it is true or not. Those who know anything about it can clarify me.

Battle city…

May 9th, 2009

The main aim of this game is to protect our home town from invaders or other military groups. This is a two dimensional game. The home city will be covered with bricks and we can upgrade the wall by going to higher levels.

The opponent military group will come with different kinds of tanks. We have to kill them and save our own country from them.

We can design our own battle field. With that option we can make our home city a stronger one. Many bonus points will be provided if we kill more tanks of the opponent military group.

It’s up to you!

April 23rd, 2009

I and my friend recently had a discussion. It was actually an argument. But I do not want to share our personal stuffs with the readers’ world wide.

The argument… sorry… the discussion was about fixing a price for a product which we sell. I was quoting a range and she was giving some other range. I actually quoted less than her quoting. She said “we can not make money if we do business like this”. “We are doing business and not running a charity”, she added.

At the end of the so called discussion, she ended up with a phrase, which is nothing but the heading of this post.

Newspapers!!!

April 23rd, 2009

I was 8 years old when I had my first “interaction” with news paper. I used to look at the photos in the paper. After some years, I got the habit of reading news paper everyday. Now reading news paper has become one of my morning duties.

I usually do not read each and every news in the news paper. I will go for thorough reading only if there is any burning issue in it. Science and technology, business and current affairs are my favorite areas in papers.

Many people in the world believe what the papers and other media sources say. So, the media people should do justice to the news which they telecast. There are many hypocrite media and they do nothing but lies. I started hating news papers because of too much of lies in it.

Shadow!!!

April 22nd, 2009

Shadow is the one which follows us where ever we go. But we have to walk in light but not in dark. There is a big philosophy hidden inside this statement.

Even if it is our very own shadow, it will not stay with us always. Like wise, we have to work hard to achieve what ever we want. A famous poet said once that, “we can hold water in a filter, if we are ready to wait till it becomes ice cube”.

We have to be in patience till we achieve what we want. Some dream might take time to achieve. But if you work hard, and understand the cause of the delay, then we can easily get it one or the other day. Let us follow this shadow principle to become big.

The Man Who Brought Bad Luck…

April 17th, 2009

During Emperor Akbar’s reign, there was a poor man in Agra who was thought to bring bad luck. People believed that if any one looked at his face in the morning, they would have a bad day.

“Get lost, you ugly fellow!” he would be cursed by one and all. “Hide your face before you kill someone with your evil eye!”

The emperor soon heard of this man’s reputation and wanted to see him. The poor fellow, who had not harmed a single person in his life, was brought to Akbar.

Akbar took a look at him and asked him to be brought back in the evening.

That particular day was a specially full and tiring day for the emperor and his courtiers. So many matters had to be attended to that Akbar even forgot to eat. By the end of the day, the emperor was cranky and exhausted. To make matters worse, Akbar was informed that his favorite child, little Prince Salim, had fallen ill.

Then the emperor suddenly remembered that he had seen the face of the ‘unlucky’ man that morning.

That was it. It was all the beggar’s fault, Akbar decided.

Akbar called his courtiers and told them that he was going to have the ‘unlucky’ man executed. All of them agreed immediately.

That is, all except Birbal. Instead, he let out a short laugh.

“What’s the matter, Birbal?” barked the angry emperor. “You seem to find something funny!”

“Nothing, your majesty,” replied Birbal. “You say this man brings bad luck because you had to go without food ever since you saw him this morning. Look at his luck. yours was the first face he saw today, and he has to die because of it.”

Akbar immediately realized his folly and rewarded Birbal for his wisdom.

Emotions

April 17th, 2009

Emotions are plenty in number. Happiness, anxiety, anger, fear, love and many others are prevalent in us. These emotions are also present for animals as much as we possess them but they experience them in different ways than we do. These emotions are released based on the inputs we face in the world and the incident we experience.

It is very important for every individual to have control over his emotions and understand them. Great people always have an idea of what emotion they are experiencing. It is not that they never get angry but when they do get angry, they know to what level it has to exist and when to stop. We should all try to control our emotions and eventually master it.

Sticky Milk….

April 17th, 2009

Jack was known far and wide for his wit and great sense of justice. People came to him from every corner of the land with their problems.
In a village not far from Agra, lived two women named Sophia and Mary. Both made a living selling milk and butter.
Mary, a timid woman, barely managed to make a living with the two buffaloes she owned. Sophia, on the other hand, was a rich woman who owned ten buffaloes. She also owned a sharp tongue, and people were frightened of her.
One day, Sophia went to Mary to borrow a liter of milk. Mary was surprised but gave it to her. She wondered why Sophia needed to borrow milk when she had so many buffaloes of her own.
“I will return it tomorrow,” said Sophia, vanishing quickly.
Days passed, and there was no sign of Sophia. It was as though she had never borrowed the milk from Mary.
One day, Mary plucked up her courage and went to Sophia’s house.
“It’s been many days since you borrowed the milk,” she said. “Please return it.”
“What are you talking about, woman?” yelled Sophia.
Mary trembled in fear but stood her ground.
“You know very well what I mean,” she softly.
“Why would I borrow milk from you when I have ten plump buffaloes of my own?” screamed Sophia.
By this time, a crowd had gathered. Poor Mary was quite embarrassed and left quietly.
For days, Mary was so upset that she could not sleep at all. Seeing this, her neighbor came to her.
“Why don’t you go to Jack the Just?” she suggested. “He will definitely help you!”
At this, Mary brightened. She hurried to Jack’s house and told him what had happened.
Said Jack, “Dear lady, Please don’t worry. I will see that your milk is returned to you soon! Now, come back tomorrow to court!”
Mary went home feeling somewhat happier. The next day, she went to court as ordered.
Jack then sent his men to fetch Sophia. The rich woman came there reluctantly.
“What do you want me for?” she asked Jack rudely.
Jack ignored this, saying calmly, “Answer. Did you borrow milk from Mary and not return it?”
Shouted Sophia, “And who says I did? Let her step forward, if she dares!”
Mary trembled.
Jack said quietly, pointing at Mary , “She does!”
He looked carefully at the two women.
“I want both of you to return tomorrow for the verdict!” he ordered.
The next day, the two women returned. They were astonished to find the path leading up to the court very slushy but had no choice but to walk through it.
The women found Jack waiting for them at the entrance. He asked for some water to be brought so that the women could wash their muddy feet.
As they did so, Jack observed the women closely.
When they were done, he said, “I have reached a decision!”
A silence fell upon the court.
Jack said, “Sophia, I find you guilty of borrowing a liter of milk from Mary without ever intending to return it!”
“Prove it!” cried Sophia in fury.
Jack silenced her with his hand.
“Your own feet are proof enough,” he said.
Sophia looked down at her feet in surprise.
“How is that possible?” she demanded.
Said Jack, “Both of you walked through the slush. I saw Mary using a pot full of water to wash her feet. That proves her careful nature. But you, unlike her, were lavish. I saw you finish up at least tem pots of water! That shows the extravagant way in which you lead your life. Though you have ten buffaloes, you still needed to borrow milk! This court orders you to return two liters of milk to Mary, one to replace what you have borrowed, and one as a fine!”
Mary beamed in delight as everyone in the court, including the emperor, burst into applause at Jack’s clever judgment.

JOHN BUNIYAN…

April 10th, 2009

As a preacher, Bunyan was indefatigable and immensely popular; never failing to draw a huge crowd of listeners.

His literary career, which had begun in 1656 with Some Gospel Truths Opened, continued until his death. In all, close to 60 of his works in prose and meter have been published.

His chief fame rests on Pilgrim’s Progress (1678), which was largely added to in the second and third editions. This allegory of an ordinary man making his way to heaven is one of the most influential books in Western civilization.

The second part (1684) is noted to be considerably weaker and lacking the innovation of the first part. The Life and Death of Mr. Badman (1980) is intended to be a contrast to Pilgrim’s Progress. Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners (1666), is autobiographical, but overstates the wickedness of the author. The Holy War (1682), a powerful work, has been overshadowed by Pilgrim’s Progress.
